Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what annual financial contributions they have provided to the Global Financing Facility since its inception.

To date we have not made any financial contribution to the Global Financing Facility.

Ministers have recently approved spend of £30m over 3 years to enable the Global Financing Facility to pilot innovative financing mechanisms. These will increase domestic and private sector resources for sexual and reproductive health and rights. Our investment will save lives and will enable women and girls to thrive and help transform their countries, our trading partners of tomorrow. It is the right thing to do and it is in our national interest.
