Question to the Home Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government how many individuals’ asylum applications were declared inadmissible in 2022; and what percentage of such individuals were returned to a safe or third country.

Statistics on inadmissibility can be found in tables Asy_09a and Asy_09b of the Asylum and Resettlement Summary Tables which are published on gov.uk quarterly.

The Home Office does not publish a breakdown of these statistics which provide an average length of time to reach an inadmissibility decision. Those figures are not available in a reportable format and to provide the information could only be done at disproportionate cost.
