Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what progress has been made towards peace and reconciliation through the churches and specialised voluntary agencies in South Sudan; and what plans there are for the United Kingdom to support those initiatives.

Church leaders in South Sudan are influential and have played an important role in reconciliation efforts to date. They will have a key part to play in future national reconciliation processes. The UK is engaging with different reconciliation mechanisms as well as funding technical support.
