The Home Office collects and publishes statistics annually on the number of hate crime offences recorded by the police in England and Wales, broken down by five centrally monitored strands: race, religion, sexual orientation, disability and transgender identity.

The Home Office routinely work with civil society partners, including those working on LGBTQ+ issues, to understand hate crime trends. The latest Home Office data on recorded crime in relation to all protected characteristics, including prevalence and trends, is available here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/839172/hate-crime-1819-hosb2419.pdf
