Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask Her Majesty's Government whether any GP surgeries are approved for the purpose of terminating an unwanted pregnancy; if so which; and what consideration they have given to approving GP surgeries as designated areas for medical abortions as recommended by the World Health Organisation.
This question was answered on 20th March 2018
There are currently no plans to approve general practitioner surgeries as a separate “class of place” for medical abortions under the Abortion Act 1967.
