Question to the Northern Ireland Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what financial support they have given to civil society and charitable organisations in Northern Ireland, in each of the last three years, to enable those organisations to uphold the principles of the Belfast Agreement and to help restore the north-south and devolved institutions; and whether contributions have been received from the EU for those purposes.
Under the terms of the devolution settlement, financial support for civil society and charitable organisations in Northern Ireland is a matter for the devolved administration.
The EU PEACE programme supports peace and reconciliation and promotes economic and social progress in Northern Ireland and border areas of Ireland. Management and delivery of this programme is handled by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), and financing is administered by local partnerships and non-governmental organisations.
