Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government how much financial assistance was provided by the UK to the White Helmets in (1) 2015–16, and (2) the current year to date.

Syria Civil Defence is funded by a group of Western nations, including the UK. We have provided almost £30 million since we first began work with SCD in 2013, including contributions of around £11 million in 2015-16 and around £11 million in 2016-17. HMG will contribute a further £8.2 million in 2017-18. The United States, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark also provide funding to SCD.
