Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether arrangements are being made for the employment of qualified Syrian teachers who are based in camps or cities in Jordan.

Currently teaching is a “restricted sector” in Jordan, not open to nationalities other than Jordanian. However, of the approximately 49,000 work permits issued to Syrian refugees to date, 103 Syrians have been employed in the education sector.
