Question to the Department for Education:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what percentage of the Department for Education's data is hosted (1) in the UK, and (2) overseas.
This question was answered on 1st May 2018
The amount of data hosted in the UK in the department’s on-premises’ datacentres is estimated to be approximately 60%.
The amount of data hosted overseas in Microsoft Azure datacentres in the European Economic Area is estimated to be approximately 40%.
