Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask His Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with relevant (1) professional, and (2) trade, bodies about improving the (a) quality, and (b) safety, of electrical installations in buildings.

Government officials have regular discussions with relevant professional bodies and trade associations. This includes participation in the Committee that maintains and improves our national quality and safety standards for electrical installations in buildings. Officials also attend the Committee that maintains and develops the competence and qualifications framework for electrical installers.
