Romania: Prison Accommodation

Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of prison conditions in Romania.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is aware of the standard of prison conditions in Romania. We have publicly questioned Romania at the Human Rights Council, most recently in January, about its work to improve detention conditions, and our embassy in Bucharest is in regular contact with the Romanian government on this topic.
