Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Earl Howe on 25 June (WA 160–61) concerning reparative or conversion therapy on homosexual men and women, whether they will ensure that no such treatment will be available through the National Health Service or any other taxpayer-funded organisation.

This Government does not believe that being lesbian, gay or bisexual is an illness to be treated or cured. We are therefore strongly against the practice of so called ‘reparative' or ‘conversion' therapy. Both the Department and NHS England have made it clear that monies from the public purse should not be used to fund such therapy.
