Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they have contacted the White House in response to President Trump’s comments on knife violence in London in his speech to the National Rifle Association convention on 4 May.

We have not discussed knife violence in London with the White House following the President's remarks. We are confident that the US Government is aware via its Embassy of the action we are taking action to restrict access to offensive weapons as well as working to break the deadly cycle of violence and protect our children, families and communities.
