The Government is clear that where the Windrush generation have suffered loss, they will be compensated and the Home Office is setting up a new scheme to deliver this, which will be overseen by an Independent Person.

As a first stage, the Home Office has launched a Call for Evidence which is an opportunity for those who have been affected, and their families, to tell us what happened, how it has affected them and what they believe the compensation scheme needs to address.

Further information on the findings of the Call for Evidence will be published in the coming weeks. These will be used to inform the design options and scope of a compensation scheme.
