Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what specific measures they are taking to encourage free and fair elections in Turkey, and in particular to protect freedom of speech.

​​We are actively supporting the electoral monitoring mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights. We are engaging with the Turkish government regarding preparations for the elections and have urged them to ensure the process is carried out in a transparent and democratic manner.
