Question to the Home Office:

To ask Her Majesty's Government what are the reasons someone might be banned from re-entry to the UK following voluntary departure, in addition to those listed in the guidance published in April 2017; whether there is provision for a discretionary ban on re-entry to the UK when no published criteria for a ban apply; and what is the scope of discretion as regards the length of the ban.

All of the reasons why a person may be subject to a re-entry ban and the associated length of the ban are clearly outlined within the following guidance published on Gov.UK on 6 April 2017.

The guidance is based on paragraphs A320 and 320(7B) of the Immigration Rules which set out the general grounds on which entry clearance or leave to enter the UK is to be refused.
