Question to the Home Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government what action, if any, they have taken against churches or other organisations for supporting failed asylum seekers.
We welcome the important contribution that voluntary, charitable and non-governmental organisations make to the UK asylum system and believe the best way to support those who have been refused asylum and who have no lawful basis to remain in the UK is in helping them to leave the UK voluntarily and reintegrate into their communities in their country of origin.
The Home Office does not fund or take action against churches or other places of worship that offer support to failed asylum seekers.
