Question to the Home Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government how many asylum claims are currently waiting to be processed.

The Home Office publishes data on the number of asylum cases pending a decision at the end of each quarter in table as_01_q (asylum, volume 1) of the quarterly Immigration Statistics release.
The latest figures show the total number of asylum cases pending a decision at the end of March 2018 was 24,593. Of this total, the number pending an initial decision was 22,100. The data can be found at the link below:
