Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon on 25 May (HL7831), what factors and circumstances they consider to be the most significant root causes of conflict.

The causes of conflict are many and variable, and often complex, deep-rooted, and controversial. It is not possible to do justice to the issues in a short answer to a parliamentary question. Extensive analysis of these issues is widely available.
