Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask His Majesty's Government what estimate they have made of any additional funding allocated to the government of Wales following the 2025 spending review, in line with the Barnett formula.
The Welsh Government settlement is growing in real terms between 2024-25 and 2028-29. This is the largest Spending Review settlement, in real terms, since devolution in 1998. The Welsh Government is receiving at least 20% more per person than equivalent UK Government spending in the rest of the UK. This ensures the Welsh Government is funded above their level of need.
The Welsh Government is receiving an average of £22.4 billion per year between 2026-27 and 2028-29, including an additional £1.6 billion per year on average through the operation of the Barnett formula, with £1.4 billion resource between 2026-27 and 2028-29 and £200 million capital between 2026-27 and 2029-30.
