Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask His Majesty's Government what plans they have to pursue and support defence projects in Scotland in the light of the Scottish Government's policy of not using public money to support the manufacture of munitions.

The UK Government, through the Strategic Defence Review, will make defence an engine for growth ensuring that our defence spending boosting prosperity, jobs and security for working people across all nations and regions. This includes in Scotland, where we are due to embark on a multi-decade, multi-billion redevelopment of HMNB Clyde, with an initial £250 million of funding over three years. We are committed to working with the Scottish Government to ensure that we have a thriving defence sector which supports Scottish jobs, skills and growth.
