Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask His Majesty's Government what progress they have made to review and update NHS England's service specifications for (1) paediatric neurosciences, (2) neurosurgery, and (3) complex rehabilitation.

NHS England is currently reviewing a number of specialised service specifications, including paediatric neurosciences, neurosurgery, and complex rehabilitation. It is our intention that all three updated service specifications will be published in 2026 or 2027.

The review and update of service specifications is completed in line with the published methods document and informed through engagement with clinical leads, individual services, and patient and public voice.
