@JemmyHope1764 @MerrynSW Who are these non-workers? What assumptions on retirement and health are you using?
@MerrynSW Why is this a bad thing? Sure we’d have to retire later, but the reduction in impact on the planet, and the increased space for us, would make that worthwhile.
@polblonde @Lachlan_Edi Time was when the @FT put truth before story.
@Nikolaj_Bi @AdamHartScience @CITES An interesting example of Ban Trophy Hunting's lack of interest in the truth. No evidence offered for the figure, and hard to imagine how there's not be lots if the number was anywhere near this.

@NatureLark @thereisaseason4 I agree. Flowers in the umbel seem from the photo to be all in one direction. If they were spread about that would suggest a cowslip/primrose hybrid
@memcculloch For a young tree, the risk of late frost is worth taking because leafing late = leafing in the shade of the large trees. For a large tree, leafing early risks frost and allowing the young trees you sheltered from the frost to come up through the devastation?
@joshual951 @ConopsEnto @StevenFalk1 Found an oil beetle last weekend; my first thought was 'poor bees'
@nickhillman They have employed Mrs Cropley, evidently.
@TonyJuniper I have an amendment to the Levelling Up bill (504GJC) to allow local authorities to list small areas as “other effective area-based conservation measures” , as defined in the 2018 Convention on Biological Diversity, so we can all play an acknowledged part in protecting nature.
