Tuesday 21st July 2015

Asked by: Chris Law (Scottish National Party - Dundee Central)

Question to the Attorney General:

To ask the Attorney General, pursuant to the Answer of 10 July 2015 to Question 2952, if he will make it his policy to secure accredited Living Wage Employer status for the Law Officers Departments from the Living Wage Foundation.

Answered by Robert Buckland

This government is the first government to introduce a compulsory National Living Wage as of April 2016.

All employers, including government departments, will be required to comply with the new National Living Wage of £7.20/ph for those aged 25 and above, as set out in the Budget, which is expected to reach £9 p/h by 2020.
