To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many (a) professionally-qualified clinical staff other than locum doctors, (b) doctors other than locum doctors and qualified nursing, midwifery and health visiting staff, (c) HCHS doctors other than locum doctors and (d) qualified nursing, midwifery and health visiting staff were employed in each NHS trust in May (i) 2010 and (ii) 2014.

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, if he will estimate how much money his Department has spent in Morecambe and Lunesdale constituency since May 2010.

In general, the Department allocates funding to NHS England, which both allocates funding in turn to clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and commissions certain services directly itself. The Department also makes allocations to local authorities for public health functions.
The Government has protected the overall health budget for the National Health Service in England. Every CCG in England will continue to benefit from stable real terms funding over the next two years. In 2014-15 every CCG's funding has increased by a minimum of 2.14% and will increase by a minimum of 1.7% in 2015-16. This includes the Lancashire North CCG which covers the Morecambe and Lunesdale constituency.

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, with reference to Lancaster City Council's Local Plan for Lancaster District 2011-2031: Strategic Options for Land Allocations, what assessment his Department has made of the potential increased demand for NHS services in Lancaster District that would arise under Option 5 of that plan.

Lancaster City Council has published a public consultation on five potential options to identify additional sites for future housing development. The consultation closes on 31 July 2014. During the development of the chosen option, the local council will have to assess the provision of local infrastructure which will include health facilities. As part of this process, it would consult NHS England and the local clinical commissioning group in conjunction with local National Health Service service providers. These bodies are best placed to assess local needs and the Department does not become involved in these matters.
