Written Question
Department for Exiting the European Union: Legatum Institute
Tuesday 5th December 2017

Asked by: Liam Byrne (Labour - Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North)

Question to the Department for Exiting the European Union :

To ask the Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, what meetings Ministers of his Department have had with representatives of the Legatum Institute in the last 12 months.

Answered by Steve Baker

Ministers from across Government are speaking with stakeholders from a variety of sectors, to understand their concerns and priorities regarding our exit from the EU. As part of this process, we have engaged with a range of domestic and EU-facing think tanks.

These organisations have contributed to the dialogue around EU withdrawal with a range of insights and opinions on proposed future arrangements, as well as on areas of impact for stakeholders across industry and society.

Details of ministerial meetings are published in the Department’s Quarterly Transparency Returns, which are publicly available on GOV.UK.

The Prime …..."

"I will give way in a moment, as I want to put a specific question to the Minister.

The Conservative manifesto is not well read on the Government Benches; we study it forensically and in detail. In 2010, the manifesto said that the Conservatives would introduce a British Bill of …..."

"The Minister is good to put that on the record, but the fact is that there are plans—plans were set out in the Conservative manifesto in 2010 and in 2015, and the draft British Bill of Rights that is circulating in the Ministry of Justice contains similar plans. That is …..."
