Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, with reference to his Department's consultation Extending the UK Emissions Trading Scheme cap beyond 2030, published on 12 February 2025, when the Government's response will be published.

The consultation on extending the UK Emissions Trading Scheme cap beyond 2030 closed on the 9^th of April 2025. The UK ETS Authority recognises the importance of providing certainty and clarity on the scheme. Responses to the consultation are currently being analysed, and a response, outlining the Authority’s decisions, will be published when ready.
