Armed Forces Compensation Scheme and War Pensions: Appeals
Thursday 2nd March 2017

Asked by: Paul Farrelly (Labour - Newcastle-under-Lyme)

Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many First-tier Tribunals in respect of war pensions and armed forces compensation took place in each quarter in each of the last five years; and in how many of those cases the tribunals found in favour of the complainants.

Answered by Oliver Heald

The number of appeals heard by the First-tier Tribunal (War Pensions and Armed Forces Compensation Chamber) is published on gov.uk https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/tribunals-and-gender-recognition-certificate-statistics-quarterly-july-to-september-2016 ; the number which were found in favour of the appellant could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
