@AFK103 @blairmcdougall Great minds! It's a fantasy desperately needing mugged by reality. Clearly the Brexit disaster wasn't sufficiently obvious enough, confounded by the exceptionalist tendencies of all nationalists. https://t.co/rDvDXozt63

@sandyhillan @barrydouglas81 Frictional unemployment will mean an unemployment rate of 2-3%. Most economists consider unemployment under 3% indicates ‘full employment’ – or at least very close. The problem with current measures is not factoring in increased underemployment, so there's an economic output gap.

@Mark70267853 @ScottishLabour SNP policy is to have no monetary policy sovereignty with Sterlingisation, and ending fiscal transfers would mean an immediate loss of £11bn in public expenditure. The need to run a fiscal and current account surplus would require a cut of >40% to all Scottish state expenditure.

@RJMcL @MrMcEnaney Not at all. It's a totally fair point, and I hadn't realised there were lower age restrictions until you informed me, so it has been a useful discussion.

@RJMcL @MrMcEnaney Nothing in particular. But I'd be interested to hear their justification for not doing it. Sometimes asking questions and pitching proposals is important to test the reasoning of those in positions of power, however qualified they might be.

A shame it was completely dismantled, because the Clyde Port Authority had already sold the dock land off to Laing Homes for development. The early 90s recession stalled development for over a decade, and south bank walkway is private land. Let's bring back the riverside tramway! https://t.co/LWrntYxpg9 https://t.co/o7z7XjURXm
