Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what estimate his Department has made of the financial benefit to (a) Essex and (b) the East of England arising from the launch of the Tour de France.

The Tour De France Grand Depart was a resounding success and was extremely well supported in communities along all three stages, including the East of England and Essex. UK Sport is supporting the production of an economic impact report covering the main locations on the route and this will be made available later this year.
