Susan Lawrence was MP for East Ham North. According to Wikipedia, she objected to being referred to as a "woman MP", and asked "Why don't you call Churchill a man MP?" https://t.co/o3PetLVgJR

Local Housing Allowance caps the rent support people get in Universal Credit. It has been frozen since 2020, despite rents rising 4% a year since then. Private renters are being made homeless, incurring Treasury costs which are probably greater than the cost of raising LHA. https://t.co/XVj9HBRu9o

Last week the Information Commissioner ruled that the DWP must publish its report on the impact of benefits sanctions. It would be absurd for the DWP to appeal against this ruling. The department should be open about the impact of its policies, and not try and hide them. https://t.co/FKvWwFeAtg

I am glad the Chancellor adopted recommendations of @WorkPen to support parents on Universal Credit with childcare costs. Raising the amounts parents receive and paying them upfront will support parents wanting to work, and parents working part time who want to work full time. https://t.co/fqrIMeL2wM

The Chancellor’s decision to remove the lifetime allowance on pensions is a tax cut to the 1% wealthiest pension savers. Why are the wealthiest getting a tax handout when ordinary taxpayers are having to pay more? https://t.co/0Kb5a7XnmB

Hussein Abo Al-Kheir was executed by the Saudi Government last Sunday. His trial was widely condemned due to torture being used to obtain his confession. I, and others across the House, made clear the Foreign Secretary should have called on Saudi Arabia to stop the execution. https://t.co/do9ogHhXhM

People unable to work through sickness have to pass a Work Capability Assessment to qualify for benefit. The Government says it will scrap WCAs, and nobody will mourn them, . However, the Government hasn't said what they will replace them with. They must clarify this. https://t.co/3qwApuIQyW

The Pensions Dashboard will put all the information about your pensions in one place. The first connection deadline was 31 August 2023. Last week, the DWP delayed its launch without committing to a new deadline. We need an urgent update. https://t.co/f47O4oVB8f
