Leaving the European Union

"I agree that that is absolutely ridiculous. It also goes against all our British values of welcoming people.

In the Prime Minister’s CBI speech, EU migrants were told that they would lose their place in the queue for employment opportunities. We are at a pivotal point in our history. Do …..."

Leaving the European Union

"I thank the hon. Gentleman for his intervention. Perhaps the Minister can answer that question, as well as my long list of questions. Have the promises of Vote Leave materialised? If not, should not the public be given another say on the deal that is reached? Does the draft deal …..."

Leaving the European Union

"When we went to the ballot box on that fateful June day, there was only one question on the ballot paper: “Do you want to leave the European Union or not?” All those people arguing that it became a proxy vote on immigration—I agree that it was—and about all the …..."

Leaving the European Union

"History will probably show that we did not always get it right. I am not resistant to change. It is because I respect democracy that I think we need a people’s vote. I respect people’s opinions and the right to change one’s mind once a decision has been taken. Democracy …..."

Ministers from the Department for Exiting the EU have regular discussions with Cabinet colleagues, including the Home Secretary, on issues relating to the UK's exit from the EU. We are ready to discuss the exact nature of this cooperation with our European partners.
