Get endometriosis recognised as a disability.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women and is an incredibly debilitating illness that can cause many further conditions. I personally suffer from endometriosis but, as it is not recognised as a disability, struggle with work/school. Have endometriosis regonised as a disability under the Equality Act.

This petition was rejected on 28th Sep 2020 for not petitioning for a specific action

The Petition Committee commented:
It is already the case that under the Equality Act, anyone with a physical or a mental condition which has a substantial and long-term impact on your ability to do normal day to day activities is protected under the disability protected characteristic. So if endometriosis prevents someone from carrying out day-to-day tasks (even if this is not every day but a repeat cycle), then they may be entitled to the protection of the Equality Act. So it's not clear what else you would like to happen. Find out more about endemetriosis and the Equality Act here: https://www.endometriosis-uk.org/sites/default/files/files/Endometriosis.pdf.
