The new cap on adult social care costs does not include the costs of daily living costs (including care home food and accommodation) in its cap. The Government should extend the cap to cover these costs within the cap.

The proposals for capping care costs do not meet the needs of many elderly people who need care in a care home - the costs of food and accommodation are not affordable for many.
Saying they would have these costs at home is nonsense; as daily living costs in care homes can be much higher than normal living costs.
