Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if he will introduce a system for financial checks to be carried out on means forms filled out by offenders in criminal courts which are used to determine the level of fines and the contribution that should be made to the costs of the case.

The criminal courts already have powers to make further checks if the court is not satisfied with the means information supplied by the defendant.
