County Courts: Judgements

Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, if he will make an assessment of (a) the number of judgments on the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines for which payment in full had been received and (b) making it mandatory for the register to be updated when payment in full is received.

The information requested could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.

If a county court judgment is paid after one month, defendants can get the record of the judgment marked as satisfied in the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines, by providing the court with proof of payment from the person or business that they owed money to.
