Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, what steps he is taking to help ensure that council living accommodation in the Barnsley Central constituency is (a) not damp and (b) retrofitted to meet housing standards.

Social landlords have a legal obligation to ensure their homes are decent and safe. The Secretary of State has written to social housing providers, and to Chief Executives of local authorities on these issues. In line with the practice of successive administrations, details of internal discussions are not normally disclosed.
