Hospitals: Repairs and Maintenance

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made of the potential impact of the maintenance backlog in hospitals on patient safety.

The National Health Service publishes information on backlog maintenance in the annual Estates Returns Information Collection. While individual NHS organisations are responsible for its estates, we are providing £12 billion over the next three years for maintenance and improvements.
