Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what provision there is for sign language interpreters to be available for people registered as deaf who are involved in court trials.

The Ministry is committed to ensuring the justice system is supported by a range of high quality language services that meet the needs of all those that require them. Provisions for non-spoken languages, including sign language interpreters, are met through the Ministry’s language services contract with Clarion Interpreting Ltd.
