Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with international counterparts on the inclusion of malaria in the agenda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in the UK in April 2018.
The Government is a world leader in the fight against malaria and the second largest international funder of efforts to fight the disease. Bilaterally, the UK has committed £1.1bn to the global fight against malaria over 2017 – 2019. Malaria is a key issue for many Commonwealth citizens. We are working with member states and the Commonwealth Secretariat to examine options for the agenda of the 2018 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
