The Treasury does not hold data on the annual flow of remittances sent from the UK to other countries. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) produces data on UK transfers, which includes estimates for remittances alongside estimates for net transfers from UK charities, defined in the UK Balance of Payments (the Pink Book) as ‘other payments by households’.

Data for ‘other payments by households’ is available on an annual basis. The 2016 Edition of the Pink Book estimated ‘other payments by households’ at £6.46 billion. (https://www.ons.gov.uk/releases/unitedkingdombalanceofpaymentsthepinkbook2016)
