Navy: Amphibious Vehicles

Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what plans he has to maintain the Royal Navy's surface offloading capability in the event of the withdrawal of specialist amphibious ships.

The Ministry of Defence is contributing to the Government's National Security Capability Review. That review is focussed on the continued implementation of the 2015 Strategic Defence and Security Review, and ensuring the United Kingdom's investment in national security capabilities is as joined-up, effective and efficient as possible. No decisions have been made regarding specific capabilities.
