As an executive, non-departmental public body, the Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO) is set up such that the day to-day decisions are independent and are removed from Ministers and Civil Servants. Ministry of Defence Ministers are, however, ultimately responsible to Parliament for its independence, effectiveness and efficiency.

We have no plans to change this.
