On 18 January, the previous government announced that it would set out a strategy for victims of crime within 12 months, and that it would take the appropriate action to give effect to the strategy.

We are also committed to enshrine victims’ entitlements in law, making clear what level of service they should expect from the police, courts and criminal justice system. Now the election has passed further consideration can be given to this work. We will announce further details in due course.
