The National Health Service will build on the existing RightCare programme to reduce variation in the quality of spirometry testing. The Accelerated Access Collaborative is launching fractional exhaled nitric oxide testing to improve diagnosis of asthma. Targeted lung health checks are available to diagnose cancer and identify respiratory conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. We have also announced £2.3 billion to increase the number of community diagnostic centres to provide access to physiological and imaging tests for the diagnosis of respiratory illnesses.
