Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many Royal Navy ships have been taken out of operational service, sold, disposed of or decommissioned since May 2010.
I have interpreted “taken out of operational service” or “decommissioned” to be ships’ out of service dates.
Royal Navy ships that have reached their out of service date and those that have been disposed of since May 2010 are listed below.
