Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many EU nationals have left jobs in the NHS since 23 June 2016.

NHS Digital collects data on the number of joiners and leavers in National Health Service trusts and clinical commissioning groups by nationality in England. The number of European Union national joiners between 30 June 2016 and 30 June 2017 was 12,748 and the number of leavers was 9,854 resulting in a net increase of 2,894. During the same period the total size of the workforce has increased, from 1,164,996 to 1,185,599.

Data on the number of EU national leavers from the NHS as a whole is not available centrally.
