Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what assessment he has made of the adequacy of risk assessments for cell-sharing in prisons.
The Government is committed to keeping prisoners safe. The cell-sharing risk assessment process brings together all available information with the aim of identifying factors that increase the likelihood of harm by or to an offender, so that decisions about locating prisoners in shared cells are made in a way that minimises those risks. We keep the process under review and continue to work to improve the information that is available to staff making these important decisions.
