Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to page 91 of the Women's Health Strategy, in what way the provision of specialist community perinatal mental health services has been increased since the publication of that strategy.
The NHS Long Term Plan committed to ensure that at least 66,000 women with moderate to severe or complex perinatal mental health needs have access to specialist community care by 2023/24 and to establish maternal mental health services. Specialist community perinatal mental health services are now available throughout England. The deployment of maternal mental health services has continued and we aim for these services to be available across England by March 2024.
