Question to the Ministry of Justice:
To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what assessment his Department has made of the effect on managing the incident at HMP Long Lartin in October 2017 the difference between (a) actual staffing levels and (b) benchmark staffing targets at that prison.

The concerted indiscipline that took place at HMP Long Lartin on 11 October is currently subject to an ongoing internal HMPPS investigation. This will establish the facts in relation to this incident and any identifiable cause or contributory factor.
